ARM: The output value of automotive semiconductors is expected to reach $100 billion in 2026

Deng Zhiwei, senior director of ARM's Asia-Pacific automotive market, recently said that the output value of automotive semiconductors this year is about 50 billion US dollars, and it is expected that the output value in 2026 will be about 100 billion US dollars.

Deng Zhiwei also said that although the automotive semiconductor market is currently smaller than the mobile phone market, the future market will be very considerable.

According to the International Semiconductor Industry Association (SEMI) data, from 2021 to 2025, the production capacity of global semiconductor manufacturers' 8-inch fabs is expected to increase by 20%. From 2021 to 2025, automotive and power semiconductor fab capacity will lead with a 58% growth rate, SEMI said.

SEMI expects global semiconductor manufacturer 300mm Fab capacity to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 10% from 2022 to 2025, reaching an all-time high of 9.2 million wafers per month. Strong demand for automotive semiconductors and new government funding and incentive programs in several regions are key growth factors.
