BOE: LTPO / LTPS technology can meet the demand for mainstream consumer VR equipment in the next 5-10 years

In a conference call held this week, BOE talked about the development direction of VR reality products, saying that VR products are an important access port of the Metaverse, and VR panel technology needs to achieve ultra-high PPI. Currently, there are three A variety of technologies, including LTPS (low-temperature polysilicon), LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide), and Micro OLED (silicon-based organic light-emitting diode).

Among them, LTPS technology can meet the highest resolution of about 1700 PPI (pixel density), while LTPO technology can meet the highest resolution of about 2100 PPI.

BOE stated that customer demand specifications will continue to increase in the future, and it is expected that 1500+PPI products will become the mainstream of the market in the future, and LTPO technology will also become the development trend of glass-based VR drive technology.

Cost: BOE claims that LTPO technology has an absolute advantage over MircoOLED. Taking technology and cost into consideration, LTPO / LTPS technology can meet the needs of mainstream consumer-grade VR equipment in the next 5-10 years and is easily accepted by a wide range of ordinary consumers.
