BYD plans to mass-produce sodium-ion batteries in the second quarter of 2023, which will be installed in some configurations and models of Qin EV, Dolphin, and the new model Seagull. Seagull is an A0-class small car priced at RMB 80,000-100,000.

BYD's new energy passenger vehicles currently include DM and EV routes, with Dynasty series models such as Han, Tang, Song, Qin, and Yuan, and marine series models such as seals, dolphins, and destroyers.

Data show that BYD sold 217,800 new energy vehicles in October, a year-on-year increase of 168.9%; from January to October, sales of new energy vehicles were 1.4029 million, a year-on-year increase of 158.52%.
