Revenue from fixed Internet broadband business grew steadily. From January to October, the Internet broadband business income of the three basic telecommunications companies was 199.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 7.9%, accounting for 15.1% of the telecommunications business revenue, which was the same as the first three quarters, driving the telecommunications business revenue to increase by 1.2% percentage point.

Revenue from mobile data traffic business grew at a low speed. From January to October, the three basic telecommunications companies completed mobile data traffic revenue of 538.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%, accounting for 40.7% of the telecom business revenue, driving the growth of telecom business revenue by 0.3 percentage points.

The revenue of emerging businesses maintained rapid growth. The three basic telecommunications companies are actively developing emerging businesses such as IPTV, Internet data centers, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. From January to October, they completed a total of 256.3 billion yuan in related business revenue, a year-on-year increase of 33.1%, accounting for 19.4%, boosting the growth of telecommunications business revenue by 5.2 percentage points. Among them, cloud computing and big data revenue grew by 127.8% and 59.3% year-on-year respectively, data center business revenue increased by 12.7% year-on-year, and Internet of Things business revenue increased by 25.6% year-on-year.

The decline in revenue from voice services narrowed. From January to October, the three basic telecommunications companies completed fixed voice and mobile voice business revenue of 17.24 billion yuan and 95.89 billion yuan, down 9.1% and 1.4% year-on-year, respectively, and the decline rate was narrowed by 0.5 and 1.5 percentage points respectively compared with the previous three quarters; These businesses together accounted for 8.6% of the telecommunications business revenue, a decrease of 1 percentage point year-on-year.

Development of Telecom Users

Fixed broadband access users increased steadily, and the number of gigabit users continued to expand. As of the end of October, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 583 million, a net increase of 47.45 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, fixed Internet broadband access users with an access rate of 100 Mbps and above reached 547 million, accounting for 93.8% of the total number of users, an increase of 0.8 percentage points compared with the end of the previous year; fixed Internet broadband access users with an access rate of 1000 Mbps and above The number reached 81.35 million, a net increase of 46.76 million compared with the end of the previous year, accounting for 13.9% of the total number of users, and an increase of 0.8 percentage points compared with the first three quarters.

The scale of mobile phone users is increasing steadily, and the number of 5G users accounts for more than 30%. As of the end of October, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 1.682 billion, a net increase of 39.47 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of 5G mobile phone users reached 524 million, a net increase of 169 million from the end of the previous year, accounting for 31.1% of mobile phone users, an increase of 9.5 percentage points from the end of the previous year.

The pace of "Superman" continued to increase, and the number of IPTV users increased steadily. As of the end of October, the three basic telecommunications companies had developed 1.777 billion cellular Internet of Things terminal users, a net increase of 379 million compared with the end of the previous year; they had surpassed the number of mobile phone users by 94.82 million, accounting for 94.82 million mobile network terminal connections (including mobile phone users and cellular Internet of Things end users) accounted for 51.4%. The total number of IPTV (Internet TV) users reached 374 million, a net increase of 25.32 million compared with the end of the previous year.

Usage of telecom services

Mobile Internet traffic grew rapidly, and the DOU value of the month hit a new high. From January to October, the accumulated mobile Internet traffic reached 213.9 billion GB, a year-on-year increase of 18.2%. As of the end of October, the number of mobile Internet users reached 1.462 billion, a net increase of 46.37 million over the end of the previous year. In October, the average mobile Internet access traffic per household (DOU) reached 16.12GB/per household·month, a year-on-year increase of 12.5%, and 1.4GB/per household·month higher than the end of last year.

The volume of mobile phone calls grew at a low speed, and the growth rate of mobile SMS business volume rebounded slightly. From January to October, the duration of outgoing calls from mobile phones was 1.91 trillion minutes, an increase of 1.3% year-on-year; the duration of calls from fixed-line calls was 69.6 billion minutes, a decrease of 10.2% year-on-year. From January to October, the national mobile short message business volume increased by 4.4% year-on-year, and the mobile short message service revenue increased by 1.6% year-on-year, and the growth rate increased by 0.9 percentage points and decreased by 0.3 percentage points compared with the previous three quarters.

Gigabit network service capabilities continued to improve. As of the end of October, the number of Internet broadband access ports nationwide reached 1.06 billion, a net increase of 41.93 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of optical fiber access (FTTH/O) ports reached 1.013 billion, a net increase of 52.88 million over the end of the previous year, accounting for 95.6% of the Internet broadband access ports, an increase of 1.3 percentage points over the end of the previous year. As of the end of October, the number of 10G PON ports with Gigabit network service capabilities reached 13.27 million, a net increase of 5.408 million over the end of the previous year.

The construction of 5G network is advancing steadily. As of the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations reached 2.25 million, a net increase of 825,000 from the end of the previous year, accounting for 20.9% of the total number of mobile base stations, an increase of 6.6 percentage points from the end of the previous year.

The penetration rate of 100M and above access users in the central region is slightly ahead. As of the end of October, the penetration rates of 100Mbps and above fixed broadband access users in the eastern, central, western, and northeastern regions were 93.7%, 94.6%, 93.2% and 93.6% respectively.
