Intel Releases Agilex D-Series and Sundance Mesa Series FPGAs

According to Intel's "Knowing IN" release, at the 2022 Intel FPGA China Technology Week, Intel disclosed the latest Intel 7 process technology-based Agilex D series and Sundance Mesa series of FPGA-related details.

Intel said that in order to meet the needs of users, it will create products with smaller sizes and lower power. At the same time, it is also committed to promoting the continuity and stability of supply, and actively responding to the increasingly complex development environment to create new programmable solutions. Recently, Intel disclosed its latest series of FPGA product roadmap.

  • Intel   Agilex D-series FPGA: Adopting Intel 7 process technology, it can extend its performance to mid-range FPGA applications, and while having high performance, it can provide a smaller form factor than the current Agilex F / I / M series and lower power and density. Intel Quartus Prime Software is expected to support the product in the first half of 2023, to be available in the second half of 2023, and to be in production in the first half of 2024.
  • New Intel Agilex FPGA (codenamed Sundance Mesa): Built on Intel 7 process technology, it is designed to provide energy-efficient performance for edge, embedded, and other application scenarios. Compared to Intel  Agilex D-Series FPGAs, Sundance Mesa will take advantage of lower power consumption, smaller form factor, and logic density to a wider application market. Intel Quartus Prime Software is expected to begin supporting the product in the first half of 2023, with availability in the second half of 2023 and production in the first half of 2024.
  • Intel Agilex FPGA supporting CXL and PCIe 5.0: Based on the Intel 7 process technology and chip design, it not only supports Compute Express Link (CXL) and PCIe 5.0 but also provides high bandwidth, thus providing the most demanding processor workload Provides greater acceleration. Currently, the first devices of the product are shipping to early customers.
  • Intel Tofino Extended Architecture: Based on Intel 7 process technology and P4 programmability, it not only enables greater flexibility in performance optimization but also achieves lower TCO (total cost of ownership) with open standards.

Intel FPGA China Innovation Center is Intel's largest FPGA innovation center in the world and the only one in Asia, focusing on FPGA technology and ecology. Intel FPGA China Innovation Center took the lead in deploying two performance products, Intel   Agilex FPGA and Intel Stratix 10 NX FPGA, to meet the needs of multi-scenario for multi-computing power and help the cloud accelerate innovation; at the same time, it also compiled customized books, Provide professional tools and high-quality training and other measures to create a professional FPGA talent cultivation system.
