MediaTek's October revenue of NT$33.384 billion

Today, MediaTek, a major mobile phone chip manufacturer, disclosed financial data for October 2022. Data shows that MediaTek’s October revenue was NT$33.384 billion, falling below the 40 billion mark, a new low since March 2021, a decrease of 40.99% month-on-month and 10.77% year-on-year.

MediaTek's cumulative revenue in the first 10 months of this year was NT$473.986 billion, a year-on-year increase of 17.86%. MediaTek said that the inventory of channels and customers has decreased compared with the previous quarter, but most customers are still conservative in placing orders, and it is expected that the adjustment of inventory by customers will reach its peak this quarter.

MediaTek CEO Cai Lixing previously stated that the fourth quarter revenue is expected to be about NT$108 billion to NT$119.4 billion a decrease of 16% from the previous quarter- 24%, a year-on-year decrease of 7%-16%, and a gross profit margin of about 47%-50%.

According to the financial report, the consolidated revenue of MediaTek in the third quarter was NT$142.161 billion, a decrease of 8.7% from the previous month and an increase of 8.4% year-on-year; the cumulative performance in the first three quarters was NT$440.601 billion, an increase of 20.7% year-on-year.
