Nikon today announced the official launch of the Nikkor Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S lens, priced at 109,999 yuan. As an S-type NIKKOR Z lens pursuing high optical performance, the NIKKOR Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S telephoto lens has a built-in teleconverter that expands the focal length up to 1.4 times, enabling two focal lengths (600mm and 840mm ) coverage.
Nikon stated that the weight of the Nikkor Z 600mm f/4 TC VR S is about 3260g . Although the built-in teleconverter is added, it is about 3260g lighter than the AF-S Nikkor 600mm f/4E FL ED VR 550g.
The total length of the lens is about 437mm, and the optical system uses 3 low dispersion (ED) lenses, 1 enhanced low dispersion (ED) lens, 2 fluorite lenses, and 2 blue light high refraction (SR) lenses. A fast maximum aperture of f/4 makes the lens ideal for capturing fast-moving subjects, such as motorcycle racing, and provides natural bokeh for stereoscopic rendering.
The lens employs a mesoporous amorphous coating with high anti-reflection performance, while the AF drive employs a Smooth High-Speed Voice Coil Motor (SSVCM), enabling both fast and highly accurate AF control, as well as quiet AF operate. The lens also supports VR vibration reduction, providing an anti-shake effect equivalent to a shutter speed increase of about 5 stops.
