Samsung European Galaxy S10 Lite starts to push the official version of Android 13 / One UI 5.0

Samsung started to make efforts this week. As the company continues to expand the availability of Android 13 to more devices, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has just been added to the official list of upgrades to One UI 5.0. Moreover, it will be the only Galaxy S10 series model to receive the Android 13 system update.

The Samsung One UI 5.0 update is now available for Galaxy S10 Lite users in Spain in Europe, but more countries and regions are expected to be available soon.

The Android 13 / One UI 5.0 update firmware version number for the Galaxy S10 Lite (SM-G770F) is G770FXXU6HVK5. The package also includes the November 2022 security patch, although the latter has been available for the Galaxy S10 Lite since earlier this month.

With the One UI 5.0 update, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will get a slightly redesigned user interface, richer lock screen customization options, some reasonable changes to the Settings app, and theoretically better UI performance. The Galaxy S10 Lite will also get better multitasking through the new multi-window gestures in the lab, but won't get new features from Samsung DeX because the S10 Lite doesn't support the desktop environment.

Galaxy S10 Lite users in Europe can download the One UI 5.0 update by opening the Settings app, navigating to "Software Update," and tapping "Download and Install."

Sadly, for the rest of the Galaxy S10 series, the S10 Lite model will still be the only one to enjoy One UI 5.0. The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite was released almost a full year after the flagship Samsung S10 series models, and it came pre-installed with Android 10 instead of Android 9. This makes the Galaxy S10 Lite eligible for an upgrade to Android 13, while the rest of the S10 series will stick with Android 12. This is also the last major firmware update Samsung is preparing for the Galaxy S10 Lite.

A few days ago, the international versions of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G received the Android 13 update, and now, these two phones have also been updated in the US. The Sprint and T-Mobile versions bundle the November 2022 security patch in these updates, with firmware versions F700USQU5HVK5 and F707USQU3GVK3 for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G, respectively.
