Samsung India starts rolling Android 12L/UI 4.1.1 update to Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE

A few months ago, Samsung released the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. However, the update is limited to the Wi-Fi version of the tablet. Now, Samsung has finally released the Android 12L update for the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE version.

The Android 12L (One UI 4.1.1) update for the LTE version of the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is rolling out in India. Other countries may get this update in the next few days. The firmware version of this new software is P619XXU1AVJ2. However, the September 2022 security patch is still in use.

Galaxy Tab S6 Lite LTE users in India can now download the One UI 4.1.1 update based on Android 12L by navigating to Settings - Software Update and tapping "Download and Install".

What's new in the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite's Android 12L update?

The update brings the Android 12L taskbar to the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. It makes multitasking a breeze. Users can drag and drop app icons on either side of the screen to start side-by-side multitasking. Users can also use the App handles (in the top center portion of the application window) to minimize, maximize, or open the application in a pop-up view. You can also create pairs of apps and pin them to the taskbar.

Samsung has also added a two-finger swipe gesture to open a side-by-side multitasking view. The name of the application can now be seen on the Edge panel. With the new update, users can extract text from images and screenshots thanks to Bixby Vision OCR. This feature is available in the built-in Camera, Gallery, and Samsung Keyboard apps. One UI 4.1.1 also has suggested actions for this copied text. For example, if the extracted text is a phone number, the software will directly display the call option.

The latest firmware also brings individual call background settings for each contact. One UI and in-app search have been greatly improved. The new software also replaces Google Duo with Google Meet. The Samsung keyboard offers the ability to rearrange buttons for emojis, stickers, and other expressions. Also allows direct input of Kaomojis.

In the Samsung Internet web browser, users can drag and drop bookmarks within folders. For the lock screen, wallpaper collections can be created and edited. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will get the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update sometime in the first quarter of 2023.
