The revenue of 19 major technology factories in Taiwan in October increased by more than 20% year-on-year

Citing the Nihon Keizai Shimbun report, 19 technology companies in Taiwan are listed in the Asia300 list, and their overall revenue in October reached NT$1,591.9 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.6%, a remarkable performance, mainly related to Apple's iPhone-related business.

Apple's iPhone 14 series launched in September brought considerable contributions, and the exchange rate of the New Taiwan dollar against the US dollar fell, which also increased the revenue.

  • Among the 19 technology factories in Taiwan, TSMC, which exclusively manufactures the Apple A16 chip, reported NT$210.2 billion in revenue in October, a year-on-year increase of 56.3%.
  • Hon Hai, which is responsible for about 70% of the global production of Apple's iPhone, reported a revenue of NT$776.5 billion in October, a year-on-year increase of 41% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.6%.
  • Quanta, the world's leading notebook OEM that manufactures Apple MacBooks, reported revenue of NT$108.7 billion in October, an increase of 8.1% year-on-year.

On the other hand, MediaTek, the semiconductor design leader in Taiwan, reported NT$33.3 billion in revenue in October, a year-on-year decrease of 10.8% and a new low since March 2021.

Nan Yake, which mainly focuses on home appliance memory chips, reported NT$2.7 billion in revenue in October, a year-on-year decrease of 61.4%. The panel maker AUO reported revenue of NT$17.1 billion in October, a year-on-year decrease of 43.5%.
