ZTE completes the test and verification of synaesthesia fusion based on low-frequency 5G commercial base stations

In November this year, under the guidance of the IMT-2020 (5G) promotion group, ZTE used a 4.9GHz low-frequency 5G commercial base station to complete the outdoor UAV, vehicle, and pedestrian perception test verification and Test and verification of breathing perception in indoor scenes. The verification results show that the farthest sensing distance of outdoor low-altitude UAVs exceeds 1400m in a certain environment, and realizes multi-target movement trajectory perception of UAVs, vehicles, and pedestrians at the same time, which preliminarily verifies the application feasibility of low-altitude sensing in low-altitude security and traffic safety management. . Line-of-sight and non-line-of-sight breathing perception tests were carried out in indoor scenarios. The breathing monitoring capability in line-of-sight scenarios is comparable to that of commercial respiratory monitoring instruments, which can help perception applications such as health management.

Communication perception fusion technology is one of the important innovation directions of 5G-Advanced. Based on the existing communication system design, it enables perception and expands the application capabilities of the communication system beyond data transmission. Through the perception based on the communication system, on the one hand, it can provide the detection capability of non-terminal targets in the environment, and on the other hand, it can take advantage of the large-scale deployment of communication networks to integrate existing sensing technologies to improve its sensing range and accuracy.

ZTE is committed to the R&D and verification of 5G synaesthesia fusion technology in different frequency bands such as millimeter wave and Sub6G for smart low-altitude, smart transportation, smart life, and other scenarios. The synaesthesia fusion test based on the low-frequency 5G commercial base station realized the trajectory perception and respiratory health monitoring perception of drones, vehicles, and pedestrians, and verified the usability of the technology for the business application of 5G synaesthesia technology in multiple fields.
