The 2022 World Display Industry Conference will open in Chengdu on November 30. At the meeting, Liu Wenqiang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the China Electronics and Information Industry Development Research Institute released the report Insight into the Development Status and Trends of China's New Display Industry. According to the report, China's annual display panel production capacity will reach 200 million square meters in 2022, accounting for about 60% of the world's total. In 2021, the revenue of the whole industry will exceed 580 billion yuan, accounting for 36.9% of the global market share.
Regional distribution: The Pearl River Delta region currently has the largest production capacity, exceeding 100 million square meters. my country has become a big screen production country.
The reports show that the scale of my country's new display industry continues to grow. From 2012 to 2021, the compound annual growth rate will reach 25.8%. During the same period, the import and export situation reversed, from a trade deficit of 14.05 billion US dollars in 2012 to a surplus of 8.496 billion US dollars in 2021, marking the transformation of my country from a few screens to a large screen production country.
The new display is boosting the realization of smart scenes in multiple tracks such as home, vehicle, culture and education, and medical care. The application scenarios have shifted from individuals to groups, and from one-way output information to intelligent interactive services. Building an advanced manufacturing cluster with international competitiveness has become an important direction for the development of my China new display industry. At present, several new display industry clusters have been formed in Chengdu, Hefei, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Wuhan.
Special display materials: The local output value of my country's new special display materials has been increasing year by year, and the current market share is about 30%. Among them, are liquid crystals, materials, optical molds, targets, etc. There is still a big gap in the aspect of reinforcement, substrate materials, and so on.
Display equipment: China mainly relies on the global supply chain as a whole. The current market share of Chinese equipment is 5%. Among them, module equipment, testing equipment, and handling equipment have made some progress, but they need to be strengthened urgently. There are obvious gaps in array equipment, box-forming equipment, and evaporation equipment.
