AMD R7 7745HX processor outperforms R9 6900HX with 34% stronger performance in multi-core workloads

The Ryzen 7045HX series of high-end gaming notebook processors was recently released by AMD at CES 2023. These processors have similar specifications to the Ryzen 7000 desktop series, with up to 16 cores and 32 threads, up to 80MB L2+L3 cache, and the frequency can be adjusted up to 5.4GHz. Now, the Cinebench R23 running score of the AMD R7 7745HX processor has been exposed, revealing impressive performance.

According to pictures released by Station B user @金猪Upgrade Package, the AMD R7 7745HX processor scored 1828 and 18606 points in single-core and multi-core workloads, respectively. This data is 15% faster than the R9 6900HX single-core of the Zen3+ architecture and 34% faster than the multi-core, despite both having the same number of cores.

Specifications of Ryzen 7045HX series processors

The Ryzen 7045HX series processors come in four variants: R9 7945HX with 16 cores and 32 threads, up to 5.4GHz, and 80MB cache; R9 7845HX with 12 cores and 24 threads, up to 5.2GHz, and 76MB cache; R7 7745HX with 8 cores and 16 threads, up to 5.1GHz, and 40MB cache; and R5 7645HX with 6 cores and 12 threads, up to 5.0GHz, and 38MB cache.

AMD announced that high-end gaming notebook brands Alienware, ROG Strix, and Lenovo Savior will be equipped with the R9 7945HX flagship processor. The Alienware model will also be equipped with AMD's RX 7000M notebook graphics.
