Gigabyte Launches Entry-Level B650 Mainboard with Unique Vertical M.2 Design

Tech enthusiasts and gamers alike are excited as Gigabyte launches its latest entry-level B650 motherboard, the B650M C (rev. 1.0). The main feature of this MATX motherboard is its support for PCI-E 4.0, which is not usually seen in low-end motherboards. Additionally, it boasts a unique vertical M.2 design, which has been absent in recent years.

Vertical M.2 Design

One of the highlights of this motherboard is its unique vertical M.2 design. This design has been popular in earlier motherboards but has since disappeared. With the B650M C, Gigabyte brings back this design and even provides three M.2 slots, including two M.2 2260 Gen3x1 slots, a rarity in terms of bandwidth. Only one of the three M.2 slots is 25110/2280 PCIe 4.0 x4.

Processor and Memory Support

The B650M C supports AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors and up to 128GB of DDR5 6400 (OC) / 6200 (OC) / 6000 (OC) / 5600 (OC) / 5200 / 4800 / MT / s memory module.

Power Supply and Design

The motherboard uses a 6+2+1 phase power supply design, with the core part utilizing a 60A SPS integrated power supply module. The PCB is made of PCI-E 4.0 MID LOSS material (6 layers), but it does not contain 2OZ copper. It also includes PCIE EZ LATCH, MULTI KEY, and Q-FLASH design features. However, it lacks the M.2 EZ LATCH feature.

Additional Features

The Gigabyte B650M C motherboard is also equipped with REALTEK wired and wireless network ports, providing 1Gbps network ports, an HDMI 2.1, front and rear Type-C interfaces, and more.

Positioning and Availability

From the VRM heat sink's shape, it can be seen that the B650M C is related to the previous DS3H, and its positioning belongs to the UD ultra-durable series. It is now available on Gigabyte's official website.
