HWiNFO v7.37: Optimized Support for AMD's New Generation of Thread Tearers

The hardware monitoring software HWiNFO v7.37 has released a new build version with optimized support for AMD's new generation of thread tearers. This comes after Intel released their new generation of Xeon HEDT / workstation processor W2400/3400, causing speculation that AMD would release their own new generation of thread tearers.

Threadripper PRO 5000WX Series for DIY Market

Last year, AMD re-launched the original OEM-targeted Threadripper PRO 5000WX series of processors for the DIY market. They also stated that they had unified the Threadripper and Threadripper PRO product lines for enthusiasts and content creators, leaving only the Threadripper PRO platform in the future.

Two Product Lines to Compete with Intel

However, with the launch of Intel's new generation of Xeon HEDT/workstation processors W2400/3400, it seems that AMD may also enable two product lines, Threadripper and Threadripper PRO, to compete with Intel's products.

Upcoming Release: Threadripper 7000 Series

According to whistleblower "g01d3nm4ng0", AMD will release the Threadripper 7000 series processors later this year. This series is code-named "Storm Peak" and will include HEDT and workstation series. The former will support 4-channel memory, have 64 PCIe 5.0 channels, and support overclocking. The latter will support 8-channel memory, have 128 PCIe 5.0 channels, and will not support overclocking.

Optimized Support for Threadripper 7000 Series

To prepare for the release of the Threadripper 7000 series, HWiNFO v7.37 has optimized their hardware monitoring software to support these new processors. This means that users will be able to monitor and analyze the performance of their Threadripper 7000 series processors using HWiNFO v7.37.
