Microsoft has officially raised the price of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles in Japan. The Xbox Series X has increased by 5,000 yen, while the Xbox Series S has also increased by the same amount. The local retailers in Japan have already updated the prices of the consoles.
Reason Behind Price Hike
According to Microsoft, the price hike was a result of the company's regular assessment of local pricing to ensure reasonable consistency across regions. The company had previously stated that they would make adjustments based on that assessment.
New Prices
The new price for the Xbox Series X is 59978 yen (tax included), which is approximately 3065 yuan. The original price was 54978 yen (tax included), about 2809 yuan. On the other hand, the new price for the Xbox Series S is 37978 yen (tax included), which is approximately 1941 yuan. The original price was 32278 yen (tax included), about 1649 yuan.
Comparison with Bank of China
We compared the prices of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles with the Bank of China. Currently, the Xbox Series X is priced at 3899 yuan, and the Xbox Series S is priced at 2399 yuan, making them relatively more expensive. Therefore, the possibility of the Bank of China adjusting their prices is not high.
