Palera1n 1.4.2 Released: Jailbreak iOS 16.4 on Older iPhones and iPads

The Palera1n team has released a new version of their jailbreak tool, Palera1n 1.4.2, which now supports jailbreaking iOS 16.4 developer preview. This update offers freedom of customization and fun to iPhone and iPad users who are still interested in jailbreaking. However, the jailbreak only works on older iPhone and iPad models equipped with A11 Bionic chips and previous versions, and does not work on newer models like iPhone 14.

Palera1n Jailbreak Based on Checkm8 Vulnerability

Palera1n jailbreak is based on checkm8 vulnerability, which was discovered back in 2019. The vulnerability is considered "unfixable" as it was found in the bootrom of Apple's A5 to A11 Bionic chips. Although Apple can change other parts of the system to prevent hackers from exploiting the flaw, the company cannot implement a permanent fix on older devices.
