Sony has officially released its latest G Master series full-frame fixed-focus lens, the FE 50mm F1.4 GM (model name: SEL50F14GM). The new lens is equipped with several advanced optical design technologies, including high-precision ground XA lenses, high-thrust XD linear motors, and new compact circular aperture blades. It weighs only around 516g, which is approximately 33% lighter than previous models, and its volume has been reduced by approximately 15%.

The Sony FE 50mm F1.4 GM features built-in 2 XA (super aspherical) lenses and 1 ED (low dispersion) glass lens with 11 blades. The focusing speed is said to be 1.9 times faster than previous models, making it ideal for shooting portraits and landscapes, wedding, travel, and other themes. The lens is designed to meet the needs of dual image shooting of photos and videos.
Pricing and availability
The Sony FE 50mm F1.4 GM will go on sale in early March 2023, with a suggested retail price of RMB 9,599. Customers can pre-order the lens starting today.
