Transcend's New 2230 SSD: Faster and More Efficient Than Ever

Taiwanese memory products manufacturer Transcend has launched a new solid-state drive (SSD) that is expected to revolutionize the storage industry. The new NVMe M.2 SSD, called "MTE300S," is being introduced in Japan and will be available for purchase starting in late February.

Form Factor and Capacity

The MTE300S comes in an M.2 2230 form factor and is available in two capacities: 256GB and 512GB. It is designed to be inserted into a computer's motherboard and used as a boot drive or for general storage.

Interface and Memory

This new SSD uses a PCI Express 3.0 (x4) interface and 3D NAND memory, which allows for faster data transfer and more efficient storage. Additionally, it supports SLC cache, which means that it can temporarily store frequently accessed data for even faster read and write speeds.

Performance

The 256GB version of the MTE300S has an impressive sequential read speed of 2,000MB/s, a sequential write speed of 950MB/s, a random read speed of 90k IOPS (input/output operations per second), and a random write speed of 220k IOPS. The 512GB version is even faster, with sequential and random read and write speeds of 2,000MB/s, 1,100MB/s, 90k IOPS, and 190k IOPS, respectively.

Pricing

While the price of the new MTE300S has not been officially announced, experts predict that it will be competitively priced given the current market trends. Transcend has always been known for offering high-quality memory products at affordable prices, and this new SSD is no exception.
