Tongxin UOS / deepin Compatible with Over 6,500 Applications Under Xuantie RISC-V Architecture

The first Xuantie RISC-V Ecological Conference hosted by Alibaba Pingtouge recently took place in Shanghai. This event marks the largest conference in the history of RISC-V development in China. After five years of construction, China's RISC-V ecosystem is beginning to take shape. Ni Guangnan, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, stated that RISC-V is the most popular architecture in the CPU field in China and has become a new engine to promote the development of a new generation of information technology.

Tongxin, a software company, announced that Tongxin software is now connected to the Xuantie RISC-V ecosystem based on the deepin community. Tongxin UOS / deepin has also completed the migration of a series of self-developed applications. Tongxin UOS / deepin is compatible with over 6,500 application software under the Xuantie RISC-V architecture. This achievement focuses on breaking through multiple complex applications to meet the daily needs of users.

Deepin V23's Yeying 1520 platform desktop environment has completed dozens of deepin self-development and community application migrations, including document office, audio-visual entertainment, programming development, etc. Fusion is accelerating.

The Cooperation Process Between Tongxin and RISC-V

The following is the cooperation process between Tongxin and RISC-V:

  • February 2022 – Start RISC-V adaptation, adapt StarFive VisionFive v1 board.
  • July 2022 – Deepin RISC-V SIG was established, and at the same time released the image capable of running the DDE desktop environment based on the hardware platform of StarFive JH7100 SoC VisionFive v1.
  • August 2022 – Built 6,500+ software packages based on deepin v23 environment.
  • September 2022 – Deepin & Dragon Lizard community cooperation to adapt to Hiying 1520 platform.

RISC-V Capabilities

Pingtouge has completed the full adaptation of international and domestic mainstream operating systems and RISC-V, including Android, Debian, Fedora, Gentoo, Ubuntu, Dragon Lizard, Tongxin, openKylin, Skyworth Cool Open system, RTT, and other operating systems. This means that RISC-V can undertake software applications through different operating systems such as cloud, desktop, and terminal. Upper-layer application developers can smoothly achieve architecture compatibility with zero code.
