Huawei Establishes New Robot Company in Dongguan

Huawei has established a new robot company in Dongguan, China, with a registered capital of 870 million yuan (US$121 million). The company, Dongguan Jimu Machinery Co., Ltd., is wholly owned by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

The business scope of the new company includes electronic component manufacturing, other electronic device manufacturing, engineering and technology research and experimental development, technical services, technology development, technical consultation, technology exchange, technology transfer, and technology promotion. It also includes import and export of goods and technology.

The establishment of the new company is a sign of Huawei's increasing focus on the robot industry. In recent years, Huawei has been investing heavily in research and development of robotics technologies. In 2021, Huawei released its first commercial robot, the HiBot.

The establishment of the new company is also likely to be related to Huawei's upcoming release of the Pangu Chat large-scale language model.
