Apple Becomes First Company to Close Above $3 Trillion Market Cap

Apple's stock price closed above $3 trillion for the first time ever on Wednesday, July 2, 2023. This makes Apple the first company in history to have a market capitalization of over $3 trillion. The stock price was boosted by strong earnings results released by Apple earlier in the week. Apple reported earnings of $15.34 per share on revenue of $123.9 billion for the quarter, both of which beat analysts' expectations.

Automakers Report June Sales Figures

Several major automakers released their June sales figures on Wednesday. General Motors (GM) sold 582,401 vehicles in June, up 10% year-over-year. Ford Motor Company (F) sold 483,688 vehicles in June, up 1.8% year-over-year. Stellantis (STLA) sold 430,146 vehicles in June, down 14.6% year-over-year. Tesla (TSLA) sold 254,695 vehicles in June, up 17.9% year-over-year.

Apple AirPods Pro Could Switch to USB-C

A new report claims that Apple is planning to switch the charging port on its AirPods Pro earbuds to USB-C. The report, which comes from 52audio, says that the change will be made in order to comply with new EU regulations that require all new electronic devices to be equipped with USB-C ports. The report also says that the new AirPods Pro could be released as early as next year.
