China's IPv6 Active User Reaches 763 Million, Mobile Network IPv6 Traffic Share Exceeds 50%

According to a report released at the Second China IPv6 Innovation Development Conference on July 3, 2023, the number of active IPv6 users in China has reached 763 million as of May 2023. The share of IPv6 traffic on mobile networks has also exceeded 50%. This shows that China's IPv6 industry ecosystem is becoming increasingly完善 (complete), and the scale of applications is不断扩大 (continuously expanding).

The report, titled "China IPv6 Industry Development Report (2023 Edition)", was jointly released by the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) and the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT). It provides a comprehensive overview of the development of IPv6 in China in recent years.

The report shows that the number of IPv6 active users in China has been growing rapidly in recent years. In 2022, the number of IPv6 active users increased by 22.9% year-on-year to reach 630 million. In the first five months of 2023, the number of IPv6 active users further increased by 21.2% to reach 763 million.

The report also shows that the share of IPv6 traffic on mobile networks has been increasing steadily. In 2022, the share of IPv6 traffic on mobile networks reached 45.5%. In the first five months of 2023, the share of IPv6 traffic on mobile networks further increased to 50.3%.

The development of IPv6 in China is being driven by a number of factors, including the government's support for the technology, the increasing demand for bandwidth from mobile users, and the growing availability of IPv6-enabled devices and services.

The report predicts that the number of IPv6 active users in China will reach 1.05 billion by 2025, and the share of IPv6 traffic on mobile networks will reach 70%.
