Sony Launches Mocopi Motion Capture System: Adapts to iOS and Android, Requires 6 Sensors

Sony has launched its new motion capture system, Mocopi, which allows VR content creators to capture full-body motion using just six wearable sensors. The system is compatible with iOS and Android devices and includes a companion app that allows users to seamlessly save their motion capture data to their phones or other mobile devices.

The Mocopi system consists of six small, lightweight sensors that attach to the user's head, wrists, waist, and ankles. The sensors track the user's movements and transmit the data to the companion app via Bluetooth. The app then uses this data to create a 3D avatar of the user that can be used in VR applications.

The Mocopi system is also compatible with popular 3D animation software such as Unity and Unreal Engine. This means that users can export their motion capture data from the Mocopi app and use it to create realistic animations in these software applications.

The Mocopi system is priced at $449 and is available for pre-order now. It is expected to start shipping on July 14.
