Nvidia RTX 4080 Super Graphics Card Rumored to Use AD102 Core and 20GB GDDR6X Memory

Nvidia has not launched a SUPER version of its graphics cards since the RTX 20 series, but a new rumor suggests that the company may be planning to bring back the SUPER name for its upcoming RTX 40 series.

According to a report from @hongxing2020, Nvidia will release three RTX 40 series SUPER graphics cards: the RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER.

Benchlife has also confirmed with Nvidia AIC partners that the three SKUs are in the works, but no specific information has been obtained. They only know that the new version of the RTX 4080 will use 20GB of GDDR6X video memory.

The current RTX 4080 uses 16GB of GDDR6X memory with a bit width of 256Bit and a frequency of 23000MHz.

The rumor of an RTX 4080 Super comes just a few months after a leak revealed the existence of an RTX 3090 Super graphics card. The RTX 3090 Super was never officially released, but it is possible that Nvidia is now planning to revive the SUPER name for its RTX 40 series cards.

It is still too early to say for sure whether or not Nvidia will release an RTX 4080 Super graphics card, but the rumors suggest that it is a possibility. If the card does come to market, it will likely be a high-end model with a premium price tag.

Analysis

The rumors of an RTX 4080 Super graphics card are exciting for gamers who are looking for the best possible performance. The RTX 4080 is already a very powerful card, but a Super version with 20GB of memory would be even more powerful.

It is important to note that these are just rumors at this point, so it is important to take them with a grain of salt. However, if Nvidia does release an RTX 4080 Super, it will likely be a very popular card among gamers.
