Moto G Play (2024) Leaks: Familiar Design with Elevated Camera Island and Budget Price Tag

Leaked renders have revealed the design of the upcoming Motorola Moto G Play (2024), and it looks like the budget phone will be sporting a familiar look with a few key updates.

A Familiar Design with Modern Touches

The Moto G Play (2024) keeps the flat frame design of its predecessor, with the power and volume buttons located on the right side. Interestingly, the power button appears to double as a fingerprint scanner, a convenient feature for a budget phone.

On the back, the phone boasts an elevated rectangular camera island that bears a slight resemblance to the OPPO Find X6 and Reno 8-series phones. The module houses a single 50MP primary sensor, a significant upgrade from the 16MP + 2MP + 2MP setup of the 2023 model.

Display and Other Details

The front of the Moto G Play (2024) features a center-aligned punch-hole cutout display with sizeable bezels, including a thicker bottom chin, a common characteristic of budget phones. The display is expected to be a 6.5-inch LCD panel with an FHD+ resolution, a step up from the HD+ resolution of the previous model.

Leaked renders show the phone in a Sapphire Blue color option, but other color variants might be available at launch. The bottom of the device houses a USB-C port and a speaker grille, while the 3.5mm headphone jack is located at the top, a welcome addition for budget-conscious audiophiles.

Expected Price and Availability

The Motorola Moto G Play (2024) is tipped to be a budget-friendly smartphone, with a price tag of around $169. It is expected to be officially announced sometime next month, so stay tuned for more details.
