Intel Corporation, a global leader in semiconductor innovation, made waves today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) by launching its full Intel Core 14th Gen mobile and desktop processor lineup. The announcement encompasses a range of high-performance solutions designed to cater to the diverse needs of enthusiasts, mainstream users, and businesses across various sectors.

The key highlights of the announcement include the introduction of the Intel Core 14th Gen HX-series mobile processors, the expansion of the mainstream desktop processor lineup, and the introduction of the Intel Core U Processor Series 1 for thin-and-light mobile systems.

Intel Core 14th Gen HX-series: Power and Mobility Unleashed

The HX-series mobile processors are tailored for gamers, creators, and professionals who demand top-tier performance without compromising mobility. The flagship Intel Core i9-14900HX, featuring eight Performance-cores (P-cores) and 16 Efficient-cores (E-cores), boasts a turbo frequency of up to 5.8 GHz, delivering up to 17% better gaming performance and up to 51% faster multitasking compared to the previous generation.


Other notable features include support for up to 192 gigabytes of DDR5-5600 memory, overclocking capabilities, and Thunderbolt™ 5 connectivity with 80 gigabits per second (Gbps) of bi-directional bandwidth. The HX-series processors also introduce Intel Application Optimization (APO) support for enhanced gaming experiences.

With over 60 partner systems powered by Intel Core 14th Gen HX processors set to hit the market in 2024, mobile enthusiasts can anticipate an unprecedented level of gaming, creative, and work performance on-the-go.

Intel Core 14th Gen Mainstream Desktop Processors: Real-World Performance Elevated

Intel's expansion of the 14th Gen desktop stack introduces 18 new processors, providing mainstream PC users with enhanced performance for gaming, content creation, and everyday tasks. The processors, featuring up to 24 cores and 32 threads, deliver up to 37% faster multi-thread performance and up to 7% better Microsoft Office performance compared to the previous generation.


Support for DDR5-5600/DDR4-3200 memory, next-generation wireless connectivity, and Thunderbolt 4 ensures users experience a seamless computing environment. These processors extend their capabilities to the edge, enabling powerful AI and compute-intensive workloads in various industries.

Intel Core U Processor Series 1: Efficiency Meets Portability

The newly introduced Intel Core U Processor Series 1 targets mainstream thin-and-light devices, offering a balanced performance with up to 10 cores (two P-cores, eight E-cores) and 12 threads. With features like Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, support for PCIe Gen 4.0, and the latest Bluetooth capabilities, these processors are set to power a new generation of efficient and feature-rich mobile systems, slated to arrive in the first quarter of 2024.
