Nvidia's RTX 4080 Super Unveiled: High-Performance Gaming at a More Affordable $999 Price Tag

Graphics giant Nvidia is set to revolutionize the gaming industry once again with its latest RTX 40-series Super cards, offering enhanced performance at price points that will give gamers a reason to rejoice. The highlight of the release is the RTX 4080 Super, poised to hit the market on January 31st, sporting a more reasonable price of $999.

Nvidia has taken heed of the gaming community's feedback on pricing concerns, particularly with the RTX 4080. In response, the company is replacing the RTX 4080 with the RTX 4080 Super and slashing the price by $200, making it a formidable competitor in the market.

The $999 price tag of the RTX 4080 Super puts pressure on AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XT ($899) and XTX ($999) cards. The move aims to make Nvidia's offering a more attractive option for gamers seeking top-tier performance without breaking the bank. In addition to the RTX 4080 Super, Nvidia is introducing two other Super cards this month: the RTX 4070 Super on January 17th at $599 and the RTX 4070 Ti Super on January 24th at $799.

RTX 4080 Super: A Powerhouse for the Enthusiasts

The RTX 4080 Super features Nvidia's full AD103 chip, boasting more CUDA cores and faster memory with 736GB/s of bandwidth. Equipped with 16GB of G6X and drawing up to 320 watts of power, the card is targeted at existing RTX 3080 Ti or RTX 2080 Super owners. With a performance boost ranging from 1 to 5 percent over the RTX 4080, gamers can expect top-tier performance at a more affordable price.

RTX 4070 Ti Super: A Significant Upgrade

The RTX 4070 Ti Super stands out as the most compelling option among the trio. With an increase in memory to 16GB of G6X and an upgraded 256-bit memory bus, the card offers a substantial performance boost over the original RTX 4070 Ti. Priced at $799, it promises around 10 percent more performance without an increase in power consumption. The absence of a Founders Edition variant emphasizes Nvidia's focus on providing enhanced value to users.

RTX 4070 Super: Faster, Efficient, and Affordable

The RTX 4070 Super aims to outperform the RTX 3090 while maintaining a power draw of up to 220 watts, only 20 watts more than its predecessor. With a bumped CUDA core count and 12GB of G6X memory, the RTX 4070 Super is set to deliver a 15 percent performance increase over the original RTX 4070. Priced at $599 and available from January 17th, it offers an enticing upgrade for RTX 3070 or 2070 owners.

Both the RTX 4080 Super and RTX 4070 Super will be available in Founders Edition cards from Nvidia, featuring a slightly darker shade of alloy frame for a distinctive look. Gamers looking for alternatives can explore offerings from third-party manufacturers like Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, PNY, and more.
