China: Changhong Launches New Gaming Monitor Brand ADDFUN with High Refresh Rate Displays

Chinese electronics giant Changhong has launched a new gaming monitor brand called ADDFUN, targeting young gamers with a range of displays boasting high refresh rates and attractive price points. The first wave of ADDFUN monitors are now available for pre-order on JD.com.

ADDFUN positions itself as the "first e-sports monitor specially designed for young people," according to a press release announcing the brand's launch at AWE 2024. The initial lineup includes five models:

ADDFUN 24G1FC: This 23.8-inch monitor features a 1080p resolution, a 100Hz refresh rate, and an IPS panel. It boasts 99% sRGB color gamut, 8-bit color depth, and support for AdaptiveSync technology. The ADDFUN 24G1FC is priced at a budget-friendly 399 yuan (around $58 USD).


ADDFUN 24G1FG: Stepping up the refresh rate, the ADDFUN 24G1FG offers a 23.8-inch display with a 1080p resolution and a blazing-fast 180Hz refresh rate. This model utilizes a Fast IPS panel with a 1ms GtG (gray-to-gray) grayscale response time and 300 nits brightness. It also boasts 99% sRGB color gamut, factory color calibration, 8-bit color depth, and AdaptiveSync compatibility. The ADDFUN 24G1FG carries a price tag of 569 yuan (around $83 USD).


ADDFUN 27G1FC: This 27-inch monitor features a 1080p resolution, a 100Hz refresh rate, and an IPS panel. It shares similar specifications with the 24G1FC model, including 99% sRGB color gamut, 8-bit color depth, and AdaptiveSync support, all at the same price point of 569 yuan (around $83 USD).


ADDFUN Starship 27G1QG: Stepping into the realm of high resolution and high refresh rates, the ADDFUN Starship 27G1QG boasts a 27-inch 2K (1440p) resolution display with a 180Hz refresh rate. This monitor utilizes a Fast IPS panel with a 1ms GtG response time, 350 nits brightness, and support for HDR10. It covers 93% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, has factory color calibration, and offers 8-bit color depth with AdaptiveSync compatibility. The pricing for the ADDFUN Starship 27G1QG remains under wraps, but the company hints it will fall within the three-digit range (presumably yuan).


ADDFUN Starship 27G1QKZ: The top-of-the-line model in the initial lineup, the ADDFUN Starship 27G1QKZ features a 27-inch 2K (1440p) resolution display with a staggering 240Hz refresh rate. This monitor boasts a Fast IPS panel with a 1ms GtG response time, 400 nits brightness, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. It offers 93% DCI-P3 color gamut, factory color calibration, 10-bit color depth, and AdaptiveSync compatibility. The ADDFUN Starship 27G1QKZ comes equipped with an RGB light strip and a lifting and rotating stand. Pricing details for this monitor are scarce, with the company only revealing it will cost in the four-digit range (presumably yuan).

While the ADDFUN 24G1FC, 24G1FG, and 27G1FC are currently available for pre-order on JD.com, the launch date for the Starship series monitors remains unannounced.
