Huawei Mate 40 Series Begins Public Testing of Xiaoyi’s Large Model Version

Huawei Mate 40 series mobile phones have commenced public testing of the Xiaoyi large model version. The version, numbered 12.1.2.400 and sized at 65.1MB, is available for testing from March 22, 2024, to April 30, 2024. Prior to this, Huawei Mate 60/50 series and P60/P50 series mobile phones had launched a new Xiaoyi large model public testing experience.

According to the official introduction, Xiaoyi, a smart assistant equipped with large model capabilities, can complete more complex tasks. During the public beta period, users can experience copywriting-assisted creation capabilities, quick summary of information, and conversational question-and-answer capabilities. Users can ask Xiaoyi, "What can you do?" or explore more ways to play based on their own usage habits.

The update has added movie ticket booking and business district service inquiry services, optimizing the experience of knowledge queries such as time zone and perpetual calendar. In addition, the Xiaoyi Input Method has also launched the "Xiaoyi Help Writing" function update, which now supports Mate 60, Mate X5, P60, Mate X3, Mate 50, nova 12 Pro/Ultra, Pocket 2, P50, and Mate 40 series models. Users can update the Xiaoyi input method to version 1.1.9.300 through the application market to experience it.

At the Huawei HDC 2023 Developer Conference, Huawei announced that HarmonyOS 4 will be connected to Huawei’s AI large model, and Huawei’s smart assistant Xiaoyi will continue to enhance in three directions: smart interaction, efficient productivity improvement, and personalized services.

Huawei Mate 40 series mobile phones were released in October 2020. Mate 40 Pro and Mate 40 Pro+ are equipped with a 5nm Kirin 9000 processor. The Mate 40 standard version is equipped with a Kirin 9000 E processor and supports 5G/4G/2.4GHz WiFi 6+/5GHz WiFi 6+ four-network collaboration, equipped with a 4400mAh battery, supporting up to 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.

The commencement of public testing of the Xiaoyi large model version on the Mate 40 series marks a significant step in Huawei's journey towards enhancing its smart assistant capabilities and providing users with a more efficient and personalized experience.
