The Yingguang D5 chassis has hit the shelves in China, offering a feature-rich design at a competitive price point. Here's a quick rundown of what this new case brings to the table for budget-minded builders.

Availability and Pricing

The Yingguang D5 is currently available for purchase in China, with an official launch slated for the 27th of April. The initial price tag is set at a wallet-friendly 699 yuan, making it an attractive option for those looking to build a PC without breaking the bank.

Design and Build

The Yingguang D5 boasts a mid-tower design with a footprint of 220mm x 494mm x 473mm and a weight of 8.3kg. The front panel features a breathable filter, which might require regular cleaning to prevent dust buildup. A thoughtful addition for gamers and headphone users is the inclusion of a headphone hanger on the top panel.

Motherboard and Component Support

The chassis offers excellent motherboard compatibility, supporting  E-ATX, ATX, M-ATX, and even ITX motherboards with a back-mounted layout. This versatility caters to a wide range of user preferences, from content creators requiring ample expansion slots to those prioritizing a more compact build.

In terms of cooling, the Yingguang D5 can accommodate CPU radiators up to 165mm tall and graphics cards up to a generous 365mm in length. This ensures compatibility with most popular air coolers and even some high-end graphics cards. The power supply compartment can house units up to 180mm long, providing ample space for most PSUs available on the market.

Storage options are plentiful as well. The chassis can hold a combination of 1 x 3.5-inch HDD, 2 x 2.5-inch HDD/SSD, and an additional 2 x 2.5-inch SSDs, catering to users with varying storage needs.

Cooling Potential

The Yingguang D5 prioritizes airflow and liquid cooling capabilities. The front and top panels can be outfitted with three 120mm or 140mm fans, while also supporting installation of 280mm or 360mm radiators for those seeking the best possible cooling performance. For out-of-the-box functionality, a Nepture AN120 fan comes pre-installed at the rear, and there's space for a 120mm radiator as well.

The Yingguang D5 comes equipped with a modern selection of ports for easy connectivity. The front panel features a forward-thinking USB-C 3.2 Gen 2x2 interface, alongside two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports for connecting peripherals. A standard 3.5mm headphone jack is also included for audio needs.
