China New Aviation Industry has filed four lawsuits against CATL and other companies for patent infringement, seeking damages of over 1 billion yuan. The lawsuits, filed with the Hubei and Jiangsu High People's Courts, allege infringement of patents related to battery devices, battery packs, and liquid-cooled plate battery modules.

  • Case 3: Liquid-cooled plate battery module (Patent No. 201820895186.5) - Seeking 560 million yuan in compensation and 2 million yuan for rights protection.
  • Case 4: Battery pack (Patent No. 202222803519.6) - Seeking 140 million yuan in compensation and 1 million yuan for rights protection.
This isn't the first time CATL has been involved in patent disputes. Previously, CATL sued CALB for patent infringement, seeking 78 million yuan in damages. The outcome of these new lawsuits remains to be seen, but they underscore the competitive nature of China's battery industry.
